What are they?

ecovio® is a certified compostable polymer, obtained from a combination of renewable and fossil-based components. Its formulation includes ecoflex®, BASF’s compostable polymer, polylactic acid (PLA), and specific additives. Thanks to this composition, ecovio® is suitable for both industrial and home composting and has a variable percentage of bio-based content.

Compared to traditional starch-based bioplastics, ecovio® offers greater resistance to mechanical stress and moisture, making it particularly versatile in various application contexts.

ecovio® is primarily used for compostable shopping bags and organic waste bags, promoting separate waste collection and composting.
